Saw some descriptions of this product and decided to buy it. The changer button doesnt work, You have to manually change the cords from one computer to another which kills the purpose of the product. Well.it turnout not to be true. The items doesnt work with two computers. If I want to manually change like that I wont need the product then. NOT WHAT IT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED.
I have a laptop running Vista and a desktop running XP, and I use a Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard. I replaced it with an iogear unit which works much better, but still seems to have issues with remembering the custom key settings. This unit was extremely frustrating because one minute it would work perfectly, and the next I would zero response from the unit when pressing the button. Even more frustrating was the fact that it would switch without warning, and any time it switched there would be a significant delay before I could use my mouse or keyboard again (4-5 seconds). More on THAT in another review. :) I'd stay away from this belkin unless you really, really want to have a little wireless puck on your desk that doesn't work half the time.
This is an excellent product and works as anticipated. I am using it on 2 different computers using 1 monitor and set of speakers.
Easy to switch back and forth between pcs no issues with mouse keyboard monitor would be nice if Belkin added printer to the mix.
The physical switch of the second was different from my first one, and the cables were slightly longer.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and ability of this item. Until the product came in, they suggested going to the Belkin website and installing a Flip program available, which allows for the control of the switch through the taskbar.
It's been nothing but smooth sailing. I've had this item for 4 years.
About two years in, the remote changer became inoperable, and after a call to Belkin, they sent me a totally new product and I sent my prior one back to them. I got it at first to use with my laptop and desktop.
Since my laptop at the time was near the end of its battery life, I left it with power and used my monitor and keyboard to use with both my desktop and laptop. It came in very handy as you can switch just the audio to the other source if you would like to using it.
When I eventually get an upgraded computer and monitor, I'm hoping to get their DVI switch as well.
